Month: August 2013
One of the great benefits of being part of WriteOnCon this year, apart from the wonderful writers and agents who take the time to critique, is the generosity of one of the community members – OceanWaves – an artist who brought many of the entrant’s main characters to life.
Below is L.L Tisdel’s impression of Gerald.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When a dog dies that has been especially close to someone here, that dog goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our dogs are warm and comfortable.
All the dogs who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The dogs are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; Her eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your dog, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….
We love you more than words can say and wish we were with you now……
A huge part of our life passed away today.
At approximately 12:30pm our beautiful friend (and son) passed away. We do not know the actual cause but he has left a huge hole in our family.
We are devastated at losing our greatest inspiration. Please spare a minute to bless him on his next journey…
It has been a while since I have reported my progress, so here it is 🙂
I have been working on the second draft of Jaguar and it is coming along very nicely, I am hoping to have all the changes I want inserted within the next couple of months. From there it will be back to the revisions to tighten the story and cut any unnecessary chaff.
Gerald has been undergoing some further tightening as I have entered a few comps and want to query it as well. Obviously reading it over again and again gets my tinkering juices going and I can’t help but try and remove words and sentences. I have uploaded the latest draft of the first chapter for you to enjoy.
I have also been adding a few notes here and there for Gerald’s next adventure!
